Project Background

In September 2025, K-HOME entered into a partnership with a technology company in Taiwan. The goal was to design and build a comprehensive folding container camp that would include dormitories, office spaces, and prefabricated toilets with drainage systems. The project was officially launched on September 18, 2025, and was successfully delivered on November 10, 2025.

Given the urgency of the project, the client faced a challenge: the local installation team had limited technical expertise. To address this, K-HOME demonstrated an industry-leading level of responsiveness and delivery capability, ensuring a smooth and timely completion.

The Challenges

• Rapid Installation and Logistics Optimization: Product design must ensure that the on-site installation process is as simple as possible. Furthermore, the number of modular units must be configured to fit entirely within a single 40-foot High Cube (40HQ) shipping container. This strategy serves to minimize logistics costs.

• Integrated Prefabricated Drainage System for Toilets: The design requires the pre-installation of a complete plumbing and drainage system within the floor. To reduce the complexity and time-consuming on-site pipework construction.

• Furniture Configuration: We need to provide a variety of furniture to meet specific functional requirements. At the same time, all of this furniture must be capable of being accommodated within the limited space of a shipping container.

• Integrated Toilet Drainage System: To address installation pain points, we have specifically designed a prefabricated drainage structure. On-site, the unit requires only a simple connection to the plumbing and sewage systems to be ready for immediate use. With safety in mind, we have incorporated non-slip flooring, an oversized drainage channel, and a non-slip shower tray.
